The Vision of Felix Family Villages is to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs of the orphaned and abandoned children of the world, in a loving environment.
The Felix Family concept is an expression of the love and care from the parents, the leaders and the social workers at the Felix Family Villages. It is also an expression of how God’s loving presence brings healing and restoration to everyone.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child is a universally agreed set of non-negotiable standards and obligations. These basic standards—also called human rights—set minimum entitlements and freedoms. They are founded on respect for the dignity and worth of each individual, regardless of race, color, gender, language, religion, opinions, origins, wealth, birth status or ability and therefore apply to every human being everywhere. Despite this convention, millions of children of all ages have been left abandoned by unfortunate circumstances. In this abandoned state they live their lives in despair and loneliness.
The suffering among the rejected children is our calling. We believe that their only hope for full life is to be given a new, real family, with a mother and a father, and with the security and caring love a family can provide. The environment they can be given at the Felix Family Village is this. And it can transform their lives.
Family standards and behaviour vary from culture to culture. Therefore the leadership of each Felix Village is national and local, supported and monitored by the FFV Board. The most important part of FFV is the well being of the child. This means that the child will be protected according to the values of a loving, real, life long relationship of family life. The Christian values are cross-cultural, adoptable anywhere. Therefore the characteristics of love and respect, faithfulness and integrity, righteousness and equality for everyone in the family, and an environment of no violence of any nature, are part of the commitment to family life. This is common for every village.
The Mission of Felix Family Villages Ministry is to expand the reach of Felix Family Village and establish new family villages in collaboration with national Christian churches and organisations in countries where there are abandoned children. Felix Family Villages is also providing training and guidance for others to build on the idea.
Governance of Felix Family Villages
The Felix Family Villages are governed by an international board that is made up of representatives and leaders from churches, businesses, mass media, international charity organisations, as well as actual parents and leaders working in Felix Family Villages. The executive offices are: Idea & Concept, Teaching & Support, Finance, Expansion, Marketing & Public Relation.
Love is stronger than blood. Neither genes nor rules decide the identity of family. Family is based on the loving commitment to one another. That is what Felix Family Villages gives.
