God is blessing this ministry

We all know that the world we live in is full of alcoholism, domestic violence and shattered families. In the first months after receiving our new children, they were living proof of the devastating effects of those things. For example, one of them didn’t have enough patience to sit and finish his homework –he would break all the pencils. A little one would scream every time we tried to change his clothes into pajamas or give him a bath, because, based on prior experience, he thought we were going to harm him, as his alcoholic stepfather often did. Five of them were having nightmares and were wetting their beds because of the psychological traumas they had.

These children have been robbed of their childhood! “Simply having children does not make mothers”, goes a saying. Sadly this is so true and the children are the ones who suffer the most when they are little and then unconsciously imitate the learned destructive behavior as adults, which lead to more and more crumbled families. That is why the Caminul Felix families need to intervene and to change the course of their lives. The children we were telling you about do not have those symptoms any more! They are all so much better now.

Because we are with them everyday and constantly see their flaws and all their little misbehaviors, we sometimes have the feeling that they haven’t acquired enough positive habits. But when we stop and remember how they used to be or when friends and teachers tell us what a difference they see in the children, that is when we realize it is all worth it, because God is blessing this ministry and is changing lives.
